Equipment Operator

• Full-time (35-55 hrs/week), March-November
• $17/hr+ DOE

The Equipment Operator will report to the Field Manager and is responsible for everything from primary tillage to cultivation as well irrigation operation and routine maintenance of our “fleet”. We use several tractors, trucks, many implements including a spader, mechanical transplanter, cultivation equipment, etc. Day to day work will likely consist of tractor work, irrigating, deliveries and maintenance as well as general fieldwork with the rest of the crew. Our equipment operator is literally laying the groundwork for the rest of our season and needs to be a dedicated, responsible, safety-minded individual with a passion for small scale organic farming. Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate tractor work with field manager
• Primary tillage and bed prep
• Cultivation
• Mowing
• Driving the transplanters
• Pulling harvest carts
• Spreading amendments/compost

Secondary Responsibilities

• Work with field crew 
• Maintain care of our “fleet”
• Loader work, including forklift
• Driving farm trucks and small box truck

Experience & Qualifications

• 2 years tractor operating experience
• Comfort with towing and backing up trailers
• Safety focused operation 
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Familiarity with basic tools and equipment maintenance 
• Experience with manual transmission
• Efficiently attaching/detaching implements
• Experience with overhead and drip irrigation
• Reliable personal transportation required
• Mechanical skills preferred
